Quircia is a reflection of personal growth, identity, and the acceptance of individuality. The collection explores my journey from childhood to adulthood, embracing the quirks, curiosities, and contradictions that shape who I am. It’s a visual narrative about learning to stand in my uniqueness and finding beauty in imperfection.
The name comes from the idea of “quirk” and the softness of self-discovery, a reminder that authenticity often looks a little unconventional. Through the collection, I wanted to capture the feeling of becoming comfortable with being seen, even when it feels uncertain or new.
The process began with introspection. I revisited old sketches, journals, and color palettes that reminded me of the early stages of finding my identity. I was drawn to textures and silhouettes that felt familiar yet experimental, structured tailoring mixed with delicate detailing.
Although I don’t have progress photos, the process itself was deeply hands-on. I drafted, cut, and constructed every garment myself, refining the fit and finish through patience and repetition. It became an exercise in both technical skill and self-trust.
The final collection represents individuality without apology. It celebrates contrast, light and dark, fluid and structured, past and present. Each look carries a piece of my personal evolution and the quiet confidence that comes with owning who you are.
Quircia was also my first collection to walk the runway, showcased at Kansas City Fashion Week (KCFW) and Miami University Fashion & Design (MUFD). Seeing my designs come to life on stage was surreal, it transformed the project from a personal exploration into a shared story.
This collection taught me how to balance concept and craftsmanship, emotion and execution. It marked the beginning of my journey as a designer who creates not just for the sake of beauty, but for connection and meaning. Quircia reminds me, and hopefully others, that uniqueness is not something to hide but something to honor.
